This year, for the kids’ class Valentine’s parties, I decided to buy a couple bags of lollipops and stick them into heart-shaped pieces of cardstock. Since my kids have a total of about 40 classmates, I wasn’t about to cut these all out by hand. I enlisted the help of my trusty old Silhouette Cameo. I made some hearts with scalloped edges in Adobe Illustrator, exported the image as a JPG and brought it into the Silhouette Studio software to send it to cut.
I decided to add a little personalized label to each one, and I did actually cut these out by hand, but I’m pretty quick and skilled with the X-Acto, so it didn’t take too long. My friends Tina and Felix from my days at QEP taught me how to wield the X-Acto well!
The heart shapes also have two holes for the lollipop to stick into. Double-sided tape keep the little “from” labels on the backs of the Valentine’s cards.
Per request, about 20 blue ones for Owen’s class and about 20 pink ones for Olivia’s class. Thankfully, sweet Olivia helped me assemble the Valentine’s projects before bed, so I didn’t have to stay up burning the midnight oil!
If you’d like to make these, the files (SVG file for cutting the heart and the PDF for printing the labels) are available for download in my shop here.
